It's Okay Ginger is a story of reassurance for children when parents divorce.  It is natural for children to feel insecure when their world changes, and their parents - the people they count on for everything - are suddenly living apart and behaving very differently...

As a parent, teacher, minister, relative or friend, the one thing you want the child of divorce to know is that no matter how much things change, their needs and feelings are still important.  They need to know that things will be okay, even if it takes a while.  That is the message in this story, and it is conveyed through a little girl to her little dog, Ginger.  She learns she can comfort her dog, comfort herself, and let others comfort her.
